The Les Racines du Ciel winter collection features a significant amount of baby alpaca wool.
Baby alpaca refers to the fineness of the yarn, in this case very fine (21-23 microns).
Alpaca wool is a very high-quality fiber: it is softer, warmer, stronger, and lighter than sheep's wool.
It is spun and dyed in Italy by a dedicated company that sources alpaca wool from a Peruvian cooperative.
The winter collection also features garments made from "alpacotton": a blend of 56% alpaca and 44% organic pima cotton.
The strong, soft, warm, and lightweight alpaca wool is combined with organic pima cotton to create a light and airy feel.
The Les Racines du Ciel summer collection is light and airy: primarily organic cotton and linen are used.
The cotton used is 100% organic, but Egyptian long-staple cotton is also used for its exceptional qualities such as durability, softness, and sheen.
It is spun and dyed by an Italian company that works in partnership with Egyptian farmers and is strongly committed to environmental and social issues.
